Personality field cards

Every game night has a cast. Nobody receives the script.

The quiet friend, the loud friend and the one nobody trusts are not fixed personality types. They are table roles that can change after one suspicious vote, one lucky card or one extremely confident wrong answer.

Meet the temporary cast

The Quiet Observer

They say little, notice plenty and become everyone’s prime suspect precisely because nobody can remember what they said.

The Loud Campaigner

They have a theory, a speech and a backup speech. Volume is not evidence, but it is excellent entertainment.

The Untrustworthy Innocent

They may be completely harmless. Unfortunately, every sentence sounds like it was prepared during the Night phase.

The Accidental Strategist

They insist they are playing casually, then remember every card, vote and contradiction from forty minutes ago.

Why these roles appear

A good social game gives people different ways to participate. One player may persuade, another watches, another bluffs and someone else makes one chaotic decision that resets the whole table. These are moments inside a game, not labels to carry outside it.

Khufia Mafia builds its canonical flow around hidden roles, alternating Night and Day phases, discussion and voting. One person runs the session as God. The game supports 7 to 26 players, giving a large group enough room for alliances, accusations and sudden reversals.

Host note: invite participation, do not assign identities

Ask quieter players what they noticed, but do not force a speech. Give louder players a clear voting moment so discussion can move forward. Most importantly, let the table joke about the game behaviour without turning it into a judgement about the person.

Table roles change quickly when the format shifts from public debate to fast card decisions.

The same people play differently in another game

Move the same group to Boom Machale and the cast can flip. The quiet observer may become an aggressive ignitor player. The loud campaigner may have nothing useful to say when the cards change. A different mechanic gives everyone a different route into the fun.

How to keep the field guide fun

Use these cards as playful observations, not casting instructions. Do not tell a new guest they are “the quiet one.” Let the roles emerge naturally, celebrate surprising moves and reset the joke when the round ends. The best recurring character is usually the person who becomes somebody completely different in game two.

Give the cast two different stages

The Cheatr Games bundle contains Boom Machale, Khufia Mafia and a Cheatr dust bag, so the same group can move from rapid card play to a larger social-deduction performance.

Frequently asked questions

Are these real personality categories?

No. They are playful, temporary game-night roles, not psychological descriptions or diagnoses.

How do you include a quieter player?

Ask one specific question, allow time to answer and avoid demanding a performance. A clear turn or vote can be easier than an open floor.

How do you stop one person dominating discussion?

Use a clear host cue, move to a vote and invite one observation from people who have not spoken yet.
